When players are looking to start making gold on the auction house for the first time, the advice they are given often takes the form of “buy low and sell high”. Though this advice is the core principal of making gold on the auction house, it is far too vague for a new player to take action on. Players new to the auction house will need a more specific and complete set of guidelines if they want to actually succeed in making any gold.

It is crucial to you success on the auction house, to observe and take note of the economic trends specific to your server. The price of an item on the auction house will vary on every server, and may even change with the day of the week or time, so it is impossible to suggest a general price to sell an item for. If you want to be successful in the auction house, you will need to learn how to recognize trends and take advantage of them to maximize your profit. Auctioneer is a mod that automates this process, taking note of any trends for you, which makes it easy to make gold with the auction house.

To use this tool effectively, you should conduct a scan a few times a day, every day for a week, at minimum. By scanning the current economy, the Auctioneer can build up a database of how your server’s economy moves, and can predict what certain things will be valued. It’s especially important to conduct scans if you want to earn gold in the auction house, so keep up with this a few times every day. As the Auctioneer gathers more information from your server, the values that are returned to you will be more and more accurate, and more likely to generate a profit.

After the Auctioneer has collected this information, use the ‘Search’ function in conjunction with the ‘Resale’ option. Select a profit of ten gold, and hit search. The Auctioneer will then generate a sequence of items that it sees as underpriced. Based on your search settings, these items can be sold again for at least ten extra gold each. From here, you need to sort through the results and figure out which items will return the largest amount of gold to you. Because of massive undercutting, it’s possible that certain items will not be immediately resaleable. It’s okay to hold onto these items for sale at a later date, when the prices serve you better, so log back on at various times to check how the market is going.

You should easily be able to afford any expenses you may have in the game with a mere thirty minutes of time invested in reselling each day. You can make over 5000 gold each week if you stick with it. You will not have to struggle to make enough gold anymore. You should start reselling your items right away. Enjoy trading and making gold on the auction house with Auctioneer.

Druids are the coolest class in WoW because of all the different niches you can fulfill. Druids can tank, heal, or do melee or spell damage. As a druid you can literally fill any class role you want. Even though that is true, when leveling, it is important to pick one path and stick to it if you want to gain experience quickly. Here are some basic pointers.

Talents

Since you have so many options as a druid, it can be tough to pick a talent spec for leveling. As you will mostly be doing quests by yourself to level, a damage oriented spec will be your best bet, so Feral and Balance are the obvious choices. Although Balance has very good DPS, Feral is able to sustain it for longer because it is not mana dependent. As such, I would suggest Feral for leveling. With a Feral build, you can also pick up a set of tank gear and tank instances in bear form. With that said, if you plan to group more than solo, you might want to go with a Balance spec, as mana dependency is not nearly as much of an issue in groups and you can also heal with a Balance spec.

Feral Gear

Playing a Feral druid, you will want to carry around 2 different gear sets, one for tanking in bear form, and one for questing in cat form. Your cat form gear will prioritize agility, strength, attack power, and critical strike rating in that exact order. Agility is your primary stat, as it affects how much damage you do with each attack, how often you get a critical strike, and how often you dodge. Strength and attack power increase your damage per attack, and critical strike rating, crazily enough, increases your critical strike rating.

In bear form, you will want to focus on gear with tank-friendly stats. Stamina is king, but stats like defense, dodge rating, and agility allow for more avoidance and less damage taken overall, so they are definitely worth picking up as well. Another consideration that you will have to make for your bear set is armor rating. This will reduce all physical damage taken, so it is definitely a necessary stat. Try to get gear that has stamina and at least one of the other tank stats on it and you should be fine for most instances up until 80.

Balance Gear

Balance druids tend to focus on the same sort of gear as mages. You’ll be focusing on spell power as your primary stat, and a close second place is critical strike rating. Get some intelligence to expand your mana pool to a reasonable level so you don’t have to drink every fight, and pick up some mana regeneration if the opportunity presents itself.

With the info in this article, you’re now fully equipped to level your druid to 80. If you really want to fly through the levels, I would highly recommend checking out an in-game leveling guide by clicking through the link at the end of this article. I’ve done a review of what I consider to be the best druid leveling guide available, so if you’re interested in getting to level 80 faster and having more fun on the way, check it out.

It is not difficult to control the auction house in WoW. It really comes down to a simple formula that you can use dominate pretty much any in-game market in World of Warcraft or any other MMO. Here are the steps:

1. Find the most profitable item within the niche you want to control. This is going to be totally server dependent and you will have to monitor your niche for a while to determine what is worth your time and gold. Figuring out how to judge this is a guide in and of itself.

2. Once you’ve located your item, get together enough gold to buy it out and to lock any competitors out of that niche by buying them out.

3. Relist your item at an inflated price in relatively small quantities to create the illusion of scarcity.

4. Pick up the gold from your mailbox.

If youve chosen your niche appropriately, thats really all there is to it. If youve started small, scale it up by broadening your niche (i.e. go from red +str gems to all red gems to all gems) or moving into another one (which is the better option if youre in a market with a lot of dud items) and keep expanding until you have to buy a new account to hold all the extra gold youre carrying.

If this is less of a daily thing for you and more of a weekly thing, I would recommend putting your items up for 48 hours starting on Saturday morning, and buying out items on Sunday evening after the weekend crowd lists their items at the substantially lower weekday prices. This pattern may vary depending on your server, however.

The Inscription profession was introduced to the game with the Wrath of the Lich King expansion, and players gained the abilities to modify their spells and abilities using the Glyphs created by this profession. This went over very well with people who had been playing the game for a long time and had a good idea of how these things worked, but new players were left scratching their heads in confusion.

I think that newbies have more than enough details to sort out on their own when starting out in WoW, and so I thought I’d peel away some of the guesswork by showing everyone the glyphs I used when leveling my new fire mage.

Glyph of Fireball - The de facto winner for your first major glyph. Fireball is the main nuke you will use while leveling, and accounts for a high percentage of your damage. The glyph bumps up the spell’s crit percentage by 5% and removes the fairly weak damage-over-time component of the spell. This works out nicely in your favor. Grab this one first for sure.

Glyph of Improved Scorch - I picked this one up next, and I suggest you do the same. It applies a full stack of the Improved Scorch debuff, which means you’ll actually get to take advantage of it without being in a group! An extra 5% chance to crit is a pretty easy call.

Glyph of Frostfire Bolt - Since you don’t unlock your last major glyph until level 80, I figured it would make sense to allocate it to one of your strongest spells at level 80. 2% damage and 2% critical strike chance makes this spell even more useful than it already is.

That’s all folks. Those are the glyphs that got my fire mage from level 1 to level 80. If you want to see the talent build I used, you can check out the link I’ve included below.
