Pick the Right Character

If you’re starting the game and planning on leveling up fast by yourself, then you probably want to avoid picking a Priest. While a Shaman or Rogue can easily and quickly level himself solo, some classes take a longer time to level if they don’t have help. If you’re just looking to get your first character to a high level to supply the rest of your characters, take a character that can dish out some damage and doesn’t rely on a group. Obviously, if you’ve already got your character, just do the best you can with what you’ve got.

To Group or Not to Group

As mentioned above, if you’ve got a class like a Priest that can’t deal much damage, you’ll likely need to rely on finding a group. The good news is at least most groups are eager to have a priest. Just yell “LFG” (looking for group) and see if anyone will help. However, be aware that pick-up groups come with problems, such as poor communication and unhelpful people, that can slow your leveling. On the other hand, if you have a guild or some friends that can help you out, you might be able to get them to power-level you.

The Ultimate Power-Level Trick

Here’s a great trick to take advantage of WOW’s flag mechanics. Once you attack a mob a few times, it will become “flagged” for you; you can tell because the mob name line turns red for you and gray for other players. The purpose of this is to ensure that if you are fighting something, nobody else can swoop in for the kill and steal your experience.

However, you can use this feature to your advantage if you have a higher-level friend or two willing to help you. Find an area with mobs that are slightly above your level but ones that can’t kill you too fast. Hit a mob once or twice until it becomes flagged as yours. Then have your friend come in and kill the flagged mob, while you move on to flag the next one. Even though your higher-level friend is doing the killing, you’ll get all the experience! This is a great way to power-level your character.

Solo Questing

As you may know, the fastest way to level up your WOW characters is to do lots of quests. A key to speedy leveling is to take and complete multiple quests at once so you don’t run in circles. Ideally in every zone, you should start by finding all the NPCs and gathering all the quests you can, and then going to the questing area and working on a few at once by killing and looting everything in sight.

Quick Tips For Speed

- When questing solo, it is important to stay a few levels ahead of the monsters in your region. By the time you’re past level 20, you want to stick to mostly green quests only when solo leveling. Even the yellow quests can present a problem for the solo adventurer, and problems mean more dying, more resting, and slower leveling.

- You may find that some quests on your quest log turn gray because you have become too high-level for them. In this case, it’s generally best to just discard them and move on.

- If you’re trying to speed things up and don’t care about extra flavor text, open the game’s options tab and turn on “Quick Quest Text” which will speed things up.

- Don’t bother buying equipment from NPCs, or repairing your items early on. All the equipment you could buy or repair will be obsolete once you gain a few levels which you should be able to do quickly. You’ll want to save all your money for your skills as they are what will stay with you as you level up.

- Don’t bother examining your inventory. The only important thing to know is how close you are to completing quests, and you can see that without looking at your loot. Just shift-right-click on any mob you kill (or any herb/ore spot) to loot everything you can instantaneously.

Quick-Start Questing

Horde:

Start by completing all the quests in your starting region. After that, Undead should head to Brill, and make space in your inventory to gather pumpkins, claws, and so on. Tauren should head to Bloodhoof and complete all the quests around there. Orcs and Trolls should head to Razor Hill but attack the fort to the South before heading into the village.

Alliance:

Start by completing all the quests in your starting region. After that, Humans should go to Westfall (and Sentinel Hill), Elves should go to Darkshore and focus just on the easiest quests, and Dwarves and Gnomes should head to Loch Modan, from Thelsamar to the Stonewrought Dam.

Finishing all those quests should put your levels easily into the teens. After that, here is the official list of where to find quests for your future leveling:

Starting Out

You will be dumped into a starting area based on the character you have selected. You can run around a bit to get familiar with the game but your first order of business is to talk with all the important townsfolk. Who is important? Anyone with a giant punctuation mark over their head! Talk to as many people as you can with exclamation marks to gather quests. There is eventually a limit on how many quests you can have at once but you sure will not hit that limit in your starting zone so load up!

Overarching Strategy

The main goal in World of Warcraft is to increase your character’s power efficiently. Because of this, your main goal is going to be finding faster and better ways of leveling up. Along the way, you will also want to upgrade your equipment, carefully choose your talent point distribution, and figure out the best skill setup for your character. But all of that power relies on leveling up your character so your job is to do so as swiftly as possible.

Quest Is Best

Although you do get some experience for killing random monsters, it has been proven that the fastest way to gain levels is to complete the many quests available in the world. This is because the quest rewards are generally higher than the monster-killing rewards, and quests mostly involve killing monsters anyway so you can be getting both rewards at once.

In fact, doing two things at once should be your main strategy when it comes to questing. That’s why you want to get as many quests as possible at the beginning. Once you wander out of your starting camp, you want to be able to kill beasts for one quest at the same time you are harvesting cacti for another quest since they’re both in the same area. If you get quests separately, you’ll run in circles fulfilling them and waste lots of time.

Setting Out

Take all the quests you can, and then find the nearest spot on your map where you can begin working on the yellow or green quests. From the starting zone, this is in the area right next to it, making this very easy. Enter the quest area, look at your goals and focus on completing your quests. Do not run back to town once you finish a single quest unless it’s necessary; instead, complete any other quests in the same area. Kill the wolves, loot the fur, gather plants, slay spiders and so on. This will let you to maximize your experience and gold rewards for the amount of time you spend.

After you have finished up all the quests you can in your area, it’s time to go back and turn them in. Look for NPCs with a Question Mark over their head. You will get gold and experience as a reward and sometimes an item as well. Once you have turned all your quests in, you may see new exclamation points. That means it’s time to pick up more quests and repeat this process!

Looking Forward

Once you can’t get any more quests in your area, and especially if you have a deliver quest, then it’s time to move to a different zone. You should be able to find the next area easily on your map, since one of your quests should lead you there. Once you enter the new area, there will be new NPCs with quests for you, and you can repeat the process again.

“I Keep Dying!”

Here are some quick tips to help stem the flow of blood:

- Play with friends. Not only is WOW more fun when you play with friends, it is also easier!

- Try to get a pickup group. You can ask people in your region if anyone wants to group up for your current quest. Simply type “/1 LFG to kill Murlocs at the Pond” and you will alert everyone in your region that you are looking for a group to kill that specific monster.

- Watch your aggro. Try to avoid being seen by many mobs at once and fight one at a time. You will do much better that way.

- If all else fails, stick to green quests. These will be easier for you.

One of the newest and highest grossing industries is the videogaming industry. The most prominent companies are those who create the platforms that house the games. However more importantly are the gaming companies who create and sell the games for the different platforms. The biggest platform to date is the PC, and one of the biggest players is the company called Blizzard-activision. The biggest game out currently is made by Blizzard.

This genre of game has the highest potential market of almost any single product in existence. The game itself is massive, with hundreds of thousands of active players online at once on Blizzards servers playing across the globe in epic battles. The landscapes within the game are also huge, sometimes amounting to thousands of square miles. These miles are not dull either, housing varied amounts of animals and exotic plantlife.

WoW is one of the most successful games in history, having over 10,000,000 monthly subscribers, each paying about 12-15 dollars per month! Blizzard stands to make millions per month, but the server costs and maintenance take a huge chunk out of that revenue. Blizzard is able to get so many people to play for so long for a main reason that other companies have failed to emulate. Simple level grinding that is enjoyable to the average person.

Power leveling, or learning how to level up very quickly in a videogame is a important aspect of how well someone will enjoy the video game. In World of Warcraft many people use services and pay using real money in order to get the grinding levels out of the way so they can enjoy what is referred to as endgame material. However Blizzard has made sure to make this process as easy and as appealing as possible so what many people do is level themselves.

Leveling yourself is a daunting task, as you feel it will take forever to get to the higher levels, 60+. However with the newest patches wow has become a very easy game to level in, mentally speaking. There are a constant stream of relatively easy to do quests and tasks to perform that will give you experience and gold and sometimes rare items.

The two routes you may go when you decide you want some assistance in leveling involve either a guide or a service. While the service is the quickest and most sure way, it has the highest price tag. Guides however come at a relatively low price and while they do demand time, it is about the same amount of time as a service and you get the personal enjoyment of playing through the levels of the game. After all, it only takes a few weeks to get to 80, maybe one week if you are really good. Wow leveling guides were created to simplify the leveling process for the average newbie.

Take my suggestion, get a cheap wow leveling guide and don’t waste your valuable time finding all the quests you need and simply follow the guide directions.
