Ever since we first started playing WoW my sister has been with the Alliance. She always loved the other Warcraft games so it was fairly predictable that she would give WoW a try as well. Her favorite thing to do in the game is hunt down all kinds of weird looking monsters before slaughtering them. She does tend to hate how slow leveling becomes however. I ignored for her as long as I could but she really started to grate on my nerves. I wanted to keep her quite for a while so I looked up an Alliance leveling guide.

The Internet is often a little too complex for her, hence why I initiated the search. So, I began conducting various searches, digging through forums, reviews, and articles. Quickly, I realized that there are many players that have found themselves in the same situation as her. Players were having difficulty leveling up at a steady pace due to time constraints and the sheer size of the game world. World of Warcraft is an exceedingly large game, and in order to make the most of it, you really need a comprehensive guide. If you have played World of Warcraft, then you must now the classes. One of the most famous classes in World of Warcraft is the mage class. As it name applies, the mage class uses magic to cause much damage to your enemies. Mage also known for their special abilities of crowd control. Mage can freeze enemies in one place all at once. This should be very effective when fighting lots of enemies. Mage can also polymorph the enemy into a sheep and make them a weak opponent.

Although a mage is one of the most famous classes in World of Warcraft, it still has its own weaknesses. Mage is very effective for medium or long range combat. But if they are force to fight in close range combat, a mage is more likely to lose the battle. Mage also weak in physical defense. It is better to stay far away from an opponent. Magic attack is very powerful but need sometimes to cast a spell. If you are fighting in a wide open area, you will have more time to cast a spell since your enemy is also far from you. Wide open area also gives a mage enough spaces to run around avoiding physical attacks.

In World of Warcraft, mage classes are one of the most versatile classes. Here some tips to use if you choose your character to be a mage. This tips will make your adventure easier.

1. When you go into battle with an opponent, start casting your most powerful spell when given the chance. Do not use your weak spell. Just be sure you have enough space to cast the spell since casting a spell will take sometimes until the spell is ready. If the first spell successfully hit your opponent, immediately cast another spell. Hopefully you will be able to kill the enemy after your second spell, just before the enemy has a chance to strike you.

2. If you find yourself already in a close range combat and your opponent has successfully strike the first blow, then quickly freeze him and get away as far as you can. If there is another opponent, then quickly freeze him too plus use polymorph spell to turn the second opponent into a sheep. After that, hit the first opponent until he dies. You can use magic spell to kill the first opponent. Heal yourself afterward and hopefully the second opponent is still in sheep form so you can easily kill him. Or at least when you are fighting the second opponent, you are now in much better health level.

3. Since mage class is weak in physical defense, I suggest you to equip your character with lots of potion. Find or buy as many as potions you can have. The Auction House is one place you can buy potions and you can a good deal for potion and other stuff too. Beside potions, you may want to consider equipping elixir. Elixir has the effect for increasing your spell power and intellectual. Elixir can also be bought at the Auction House. Or another option besides buying is to combine herbalism with alchemy and create your own potion or elixir.

4. Every classes will have their own primary weapon. For a mage class character, your primary weapon will be a staff or wand. Wand is handier and more flexible to use. And I would suggest you to choose using a wand rather than a staff. A wand also great when your character is low on mana. It is easy for you to freeze your enemy using a wand and then you can freely hit your enemy with powerful spell or just a normal attack.

5. Do not forget about arcane intellect. Arcane intellect is very important for a mage class character. You will want this power to be up all the times along with another power of your choice. And do remember to make a good use of your elixir since it will greatly help you in winning the battle.

6. In the World of Warcraft, herbalism is a very good profession for a mage class character. When your characters level is high enough, your mage character can learn a very important skill which is Lifeblood. What is Lifeblood? Well, it is basically a powerful spell, not an attacking spell, but for healing or restoring your health in the middle of a battle. When you mastered this very useful spell, your journey will be a lot easier since now you have another option beside potion to restore your health.

7. When you are being ambushed by the enemies, I would suggest for you to run away first. Make some space between you and your opponent since mage is weak in close range combat. One spell which will be very effective for making space is blink. Blink will teleport your character away from the enemy. When you are quite distanced, you can cast spell to attack. Another effective spell when you are to close with the enemy is freeze. You can use the combination of the two spells to win your combat.

1. World of Warcraft is a socialize game and do not treat it as individual game. What I mean is you need to make friends with other online players. 2. Learn all your spells well. Never to focus one just a few spells. In my experience, some spells are most likely to be often used compare to other spells. These spells are your common spells usually cast in battle. But you need to know other spells which you may not use often. These rare to use spells usually are good in certain condition and situation. If you do not know about those rare to use spells, then you are most likely to lose the battle. After all, those spells are made for a reason. That is why you need to expand your knowledge about the usefulness of spells, although you may not use all the spells. It never hurt the have more knowledge about something.

3. Having a big slots of bag will be very helpful in your journey. As you might know, in the World of Warcraft, your character will carry the items or loots in their bag. That is why bag is very important in this online game. The more slots you have in your bag meaning more items you can carry in your journey. If your bag only have a few slot then the less items you can carry. Sometimes in your journey, you came across a rare and valuable item but can not pick it up since your bag is already full. Then you need to drop your less valuable item in exchange of that rare and valuable item. So having a big slots of bag as soon as possible in your journey is very crucial.

4. Having a big slots of bag will definitely help you in your journey. But remember that the bag also has limitation on how many items it can carry. It is not an infinite slots of bag (really want it, though). Then you need to deal with the limitation. My suggestion to deal with this limitation is by selling some of your stuffs. Choose which items you do not need and sell them for gold. It will make you richer and at the some time, solve the limitation problem. You can sell your items in the Auction House or go to game merchant. But please be wise choosing what to sell. You do not want to sell your most valuable and needed items. Just be careful choosing what to sell and what to keep.

5. The Horde has the best but also the worst hub cities in World of Warcraft. One of the best hub cities is the Undead Undercity. It is a small circle city and you should be able to wander around without afraid of being lost in the city. At the Undead Undercity, you can easily find your way to shops thus saving you lots of valuable time. Orgrimmar is one city you need to avoid. It has too many twisting paths and can be very confusing.

6. Pay attention to your skill level. Many online players tend to overlook their skill level, which can cost you skill point increases if your level is already at the max.

7. You may want to avoid enemies especially when you are being ambushed. Run away and make yourself enough distance from the enemies and they eventually stop chasing you. Fighting a bunch of enemies can give you lots of experience, but that is if you win the fight. If you think your character is still weak, I suggest not fighting a group of enemies.
